Congratulations to the Gardening Club whose short film, 'Where Do Apples Come From?' has been awarded runner-up prize in the School Food Matters competition
.

The film, which stars members of the gardening club on location in rural Hampshire, our chef Adrian doing an impersonation of Gordon Ramsay, school lunch children munching apple crumble, botanic science experts in the playground and Mrs Fletcher being very polite and not speaking with her mouth full has won us a year group day out to Rushall Farm. Special thanks to rising screen star Adrian and to ex-St Stephen's student Jordan Docking for helping us with the edit. Next stop Hollywood. Many thanks to Sally Stratton for helping the gardening club to achieve this. The film will soon be showing outside the office.
We have recently been successful in achieving an Active Mark award for 2008. These marks, which are now awarded annually, reward the delivery of the national PE, School Sports and Club Links strategy. Schools receive the mark if:

As you are aware, we have Healthy School status, of which we are very proud. Recently, the criteria for Healthy School status has expanded and the amount of evidence needed has increased. St Stephen’s has now achieved this new Healthy School status. This enables us to say confidently that we look after the school community’s well-being and personal development. I would like to thank all the staff, children, parents and governors who have enabled us to achieve this mark of excellence. I would especially like to thank Lisa Novell, who has led us in this area and whose work has been particularly praised by the assessor.
