One of the ways our school does this is with a rewards system for those who bring in healthy snacks for break time.

Each class has its own Healthy Snack Chart and every day one point is given to each child who brings in a healthy snack. At the end of each week, the points are counted and the class with the most points is awarded with a certificate in assembly.

Rebecca  and Poppy, assisted by me, are the Healthy Snack monitors who are responsible for counting up the points each week and getting the results to Mr Brooker.

Good examples of healthy snacks include fresh and dried fruit, vegetable sticks such as carrots and cucumber, cereal bars and yogurts (top tip - keep your Frubes in the freezer and by break time they will have defrosted but will still be cold).

Crisps, chocolate, biscuits, cakes and sweets will not earn you any points! Save them as a treat and bring some in to share with your class when it’s your birthday!

Remember we are a nut-free school, so please check the ingredients of muesli bars carefully.
