Our chef manager goes 'homeless' for charity
Our chef manager Nicola spent the night 'homeless' over the Christmas period to raise money for charity and learn a little more about the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves.
She told us a little more about her experience:
"My friend Carl and I decided to do something good this Christmas. We went homeless on Saturday 22nd of December.
We took plenty of food and water and walked the streets of London, feeding and chatting to the homeless as we went.
Everyone was friendly towards us and nearly everyone accepted the food we offered, and only one person asked for money instead.
We raised over £200 for Age UK to help the elderly. All the biscuits and chocolates we had left we took to West Middlesex hospital's elderly ward.
It really made me realise how you take basic things for granted, it wa a very humbling experience.
We would like to thank all the staff who sponsored us. We are definitely do it again in the summer."
