St Stephen's

Building Each Other Up in Love and Learning

World Book Day - March 7th - Don't forget to dress up!

Next week will see St. Stephen’s School celebrating World Book Day 2019. As we have done every year, we would like to invite all our children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character.

There is no need to spend any money on expensive costumes – if you go to the World Book Day website, there is a section dedicated to showing you how to create captivating costumes from items you may already have at home.

In addition, we have a number of exciting activities taking place:

Stories from all over the globe – please can any parents who know wonderful stories in different languages, who would like to come and read them in class, please contact the school office at

Rib-tickling recitations - Children are asked to bring in their funniest book. Can you read it to your partner without giggling? We’ll see who can keep the straightest face of all!

Author Jeremy Strong is coming in to read to the children, answer their questions and sign books. He’s also judging a special competition and we are extending the deadline to ensure all our pupils take part. Please click here for more info on the competition.

Get your book signed by the author - There will be a selection of Jeremy’s books in the school for sale at 3.15pm and Jeremy will be happy to sign each and every one! They are priced between £5.99 and £6.99 each.
