Be safe online this half term...
Hopefully most of our children will be out enjoying the last of the mild weather this half term, but for those who also enjoy digital entertainment, please read on...
Depending on the weather, our children may find themselves trying to keep themselves entertained online this half term by curling up with a book, tablet or phone.
If it's the latter we'd always recommend that you visit our e-Safety page to ensure you are keeping everyone safe and secure. There are handy hints and tips and resources for parents to look at which are straightforward and easy to understand.
In addition, we'd like to reiterate our message that was sent to parents today. Please do remind your children that mobile phones are not to be used anywhere on school property, including the playground - before or after school. All mobile phones are to be handed in at the school office on arrival and can be collected at home time. Outside of these times, they must be kept in bags and pockets. If a child needs to make a call they can only do this, with permission, in the school office/front desk area.
Any mobile phones seen by staff in classrooms or in the playground at any time, will be confiscated immediately. The relevant parent or carer will then be asked to come into school to take the device home.
We would also like you to remind your children of the dangers of using a mobile on the street/pavement. We have spoken to the children today to explain the reasons for this decision and have also talked to them about the app Live360, which will enable you to track their whereabouts, without the need for them to take the devices out.
Many thanks for your continued support.
