Building Each Other Up in Love and Learning

We are very much looking forward to celebrating World Book Day on  Thursday 5th March in school.

We will be dressing up as a character from a book on this day so please come into school wearing your costume. Don't forget a coat for playtimes!

Please remember this does not have to be an expensive, internet sourced or shop-bought costume. Often, the best ones are quirky, original and inventive. If you would like some inspiration, check out the ideas on the following link:

Please look out for the World Book Day book tokens which will be coming home in your child's bag during the week straight after half term. These tokens can be used at our fantastic Scholastic Book fair which will be visiting us the week beginning 9th March. £1 can be put towards a book that costs £5 and over. The class that spends the most at the book fair will receive a £25 book  voucher which in turn they can spend on books of their choice! The winner will be announced in assembly.

So tuck into a good book this half term, think of a dressing up costume and recommend a book to a friend.

We would also love you to choose a story /book you have enjoyed reading for a book swap. It could be one you no longer read but is still in good condition or you could choose one from a local charity shop. At home you could wrap your book up as a present , decorating the wrapping with pictures and clues about your story. Then all the books in a class will be swapped and you will choose a new story to take home and enjoy and your book will be happily received by a friend! If the books could be brought to school by World Book Day that would be fantastic.
