St Stephen's

Building Each Other Up in Love and Learning

Poetic perfection for World Book Day

Thank you to all our children and parents for an overwhelmingly creative and inspirational effort at this year's World Book Day.

There was a splendid display of characters from the world of literature.

Most of Hogwart's were present to witness the activities and were joined by fellow sorcerers from Narnia, Cats in Hats, a wooden puppet who just wanted to be a real boy, a marmalade loving bear from Peru and a tremendous Tin Man.

Every character was beautifully represented and intricately detailed, transforming our St. Stephen's school into a literary tableau of epic proportions.

The children took part in a book swap, exchanging their favourite read with a friend's, thus ensuring the recycling of tales across the school.

The day was rounded off with a poetry recital from each class which in some cases incorporated props and actions that must have taken hours to finesse.

All in all it was a wonderful World Book Day. Huge thanks to all who put in so much effort to magically bring these literary characters to life.
