A VERY SAD GOODBYE TO FOSS MEMBERS
As Year 6 continue on to the next stage of their exciting adventure, we also sadly have to say good bye to some equally important leavers:
🙏 MARIAN SHEIL 🙏 who has made a fantastic contribution to FOSS over the years liaising with teachers to ensure events have run smoothly from a school perspective, writing the FOSS newsletter, organising the awesome quiz nights, Den Day, netball and football tournaments to name a few. She is the Christmas decoration expert and queen of the FOSS loft and shed. Whatever the task Marian can always be relied on, what will we do without your knowledge of where everything is Marian? She has given a huge amount of her personal time to St Stephens and in particular FOSS having come on board 3 years ago. A massive thank you from us all!
🙏 JOHN SOAMES 🙏 who has done a fantastic job as the FOSS Treasurer for the last 4 years and organised the quiz nights with Marian. John has given so much of his time and energy to FOSS, being that responsible person at the end of an event sorting all the floats and collecting all the proceeds, lots goes on behind the scenes, Thanks so much John!
🙏 JO BECKER 🙏 - another fantastic all round organiser/volunteer/fundraiser who did an amazing job as FOSS Chair for 2 years. Big big thank you from us all!
🙏 EVALINA PARRY-WINGFIELD 🙏 whose dedication, time, energy and hard work setting up the library with 🙏JO WILSON🙏 has been a great asset to the school.
(We luckily are still hanging on to fab helpers such as MARIE NAISBY & RACHEL HAWES who have Yr 6 leavers, but fortunately for us have children lower down the school too....😅)
🙏🙏🙏🙏 JANEY WELBOURN 🙏🙏🙏🙏
.....And now to this most amazing Mum of 4, midwife and all round superstar! Janey must be one of the busiest people we’ve ever met, but also it would be a great challenge to find someone with a bigger heart! 💖
Her dedication to St Stephens’ school, our children and the staff over literally years has been incredible. From Cost Co runs, stocking the bar at every social event, washing & sorting team sports kits, to organising and manning a huge number of events...very little gets done at our lovely school without Janey Welbourn having been a part of it. Yet before joining FOSS we had no idea of the extent of her commitment & hard work as it has always been behind the scenes for the love of the school & never for recognition.
An ENORMOUS hole will be left in FOSS as Janey’s youngest child moves on to secondary school. Janey’s shoes will be incredibly hard to fill and we cannot thank her enough for being such an all-round superstar...! We will probably never know the extent to which this incredibly special person has benefitted each and every one of our children’s lives at St Stephens’ with her time, effort and love of the school.
We will miss you LOADS, Janey...
