Hot chocolate anyone?
Our Reception classes were treated to an especially fun activity this week when they made hot chocolate.
Ladybird and Butterfly have been finishing off their work on the Blue Penguin by Petr Horácek - and their theme of Antarctica this week.
Pupils were closely supervised while they helped melt chocolate in a saucepan, which they then stirred into milk over a heated stove.
The eager participants learnt all about how chocolate looks when it melts and then solidifies, and especially enjoyed licking some of the melted chocolate off their hands at the end of the task! They looked quite the picture once they had finished!
Other Antarctica themed activities have included melting ice blocks and building igloos from sugar cubes and water.
