St. Stephen's achieves Eco-Schools Silver Award
The Eco-Schools Green Flag is an internationally recognised award for excellence in environmental action and learning.
To achieve Silver, we have completed the following:
- Environmental issues have been covered in at least three areas of our school curriculum; this is clearly evident in pupil’s work and/or schemes of work and lesson plans.
- Our school has a prominent and designated Eco-Board detailing all of our work on the Eco-Schools Seven Steps and chosen topic actions. This includes: Eco-Committee members from all year groups, meeting minutes, a copy of our Eco-Schools Environmental Review, our Action Plan, examples of Monitoring and Evaluation and our Eco-Code.
- Our Eco-Committee uses a variety of mediums to help communicate our topic actions: newsletters, school website, the school’s Twitter account etc.
- Our whole school and wider community is involved in Eco-Schools work in and around the school.
Thank you to our Eco-Committee and Mrs Chahil for helping us achieve our Silver Award.
