Building Each Other Up in Love and Learning

This year at St. Stephen's

2018 / 2019 has been a wonderful year of achievement and success for our children. We have so many magnificent things to celebrate, and so we have prepared a short celebratory round-up…

KS2 Results
We are particularly proud of our results this year as they belong to our very special first ever St Stephen’s cohort to have been with us from Reception to Year 6. It is worth noting that all these results are above both national and Richmond averages – as Richmond is historically the highest achieving Borough in the Country, this really does put St Stephen’s in one of the top spots!

Moreover, the results of the whole-school are looking very positive, with all groups making good progress. This news puts us in a very good position for our return Ofsted visit, potentially this academic year. In December 2018, Ofsted recognised our excellence in all areas and we very much hope to prove our outstanding status during the next visit.

Leading School in Sport
We have maintained our position as a high-achieving school in the Borough. For football we have reached the semi-finals and Runners up of the Surrey Cup and the semi-final of the Brentford Kids FC Cup. We have reached the quarter-finals of the Borough League in both Tag Rugby and Football. We came in 6th in the Indoor Athletics, reached the semi-finals of the Borough Cricket, Runners Up in Dodgeball and we won the Borough’s Cross Country! In hockey, we were placed in the Top 10 of the LYG and were both Runners up and Winners in the Borough Hockey.

Music Opportunities
At St Stephen’s, we continue to offer specialist music teaching throughout school. We have calculated that 180 of our children have had the opportunity to learn a new instrument this year!

Club Celebration
We offer a huge selection of clubs at St Stephens’s – in fact, an amazing total of 35 different after-school clubs have been run from St Stephen’s this year.

Tremendous Trips
We believe that children’s learning is rooted in first-hand experiences. Our children have been on a total of 48 trips throughout the year – and that’s not including all of our sporting fixtures!

Miles and Miles
Our daily mile has been a huge success. This year our children have collectively run 75,000 miles (approximately!) – three times around the world!

Friends of St Stephen’s (FOSS)
Much of what we achieve would not be possible without FOSS and we are fortunate to have celebrated another outstanding year. We are awaiting the final totals for the year after our Summer BBQ but, in the meantime, we extend a sincere thank you for all your contributions (both in time and in money) and we appreciate your support more than ever!
