Building each other up
inLOVE & LEARNING

Academic Year 20-21 - a hugely challenging year for all

Our school life is built on a verse taken from the Bible 'Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.' (1 Thessalonians 5:11). Despite this being a hugely challenging year for all - as a school community we have continued to encourage and build each other up in love and learning with our actions and words.

As this academic year draws to a close, we reflect upon what has been a year like no other. Our whole St Stephen’s community has adapted, pulled together and taken strength in unity. Many of us will continue to feel under pressure into the summer season, so may you know the hope of God's encouragement as you seek to encourage those around you.

Most importantly, the children of St Stephen’s have shown resilience and worked so hard, despite the challenges of periods of home-schooling, isolation and constant change. We take this opportunity to congratulate each and every child on their many achievements which have happened through sheer determination, asking for support and positivity. They are an inspiration.

We understand that this year has not been easy for our parental body and we have been so grateful for your support and ongoing communication with us over this period.

Don’t forget about the fantastic Summer Reading Challenge, open to all children aged 4-11. Even our new starters and Year 6 leavers can take part. There is no better time to enjoy reading than the summer holidays!

We wish our lovely Year 6 children all the best at their new schools in September. We are looking forward to hearing from you and all about your successes and achievements at secondary school. We will miss you. Remember you are always welcome and you will always be part of the St Stephen’s family, if you ever need us.  Keep the values in your hearts and go and change the world so it is a better place - you can do it!

Finally, we wish you all a very happy, restful break with your families and friends and we look forward to welcoming all the children back in September.

'Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.'

(1 Thessalonians 5:11)
