NeuroDiversity Celebration Week 2022
Neurodiversity Celebration Week is one way of reminding everyone of the importance of being kind, tolerant and accepting of everyone. To launch the week, on Monday March 21st, all our children can come to school wearing whatever makes them comfortable - no matter how diverse.
Their favourite weekend outfit; odd shoes or socks; a favourite hat; their school uniform or an elaborate and unique costume.
It's entirely up to them and we can't wait to see what they all choose.
To help you to understand what some neurodiverse people feel, how they see things and to imagine yourself in their place watch the videos below. It is through empathy that we can start to understand and feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference. Click on the links in blue to access these fantastic videos:

There is a lot of misunderstanding around people who have a neurodiversity. There is also a lot of emphasis on the deficits, disabilities and difficulties that neurodiversity brings.
As part of our celebration for Neurodiversity Week Sallie Crook from ADHD Embrace is coming to school on Tuesday 22nd March to give a talk to parents/carers interested in learning more about neurodiversity. It will be in the studio at 9-9.40 am. It is time to recognise the many strengths and talents that come from thinking and perceiving the world differently. By celebrating the strengths of neurodivergent individuals, we can begin the seismic shift of changing the way neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported, empowering them to achieve their potential.
