Year 6 investigate ‘Food on the Go’
Here are some pictures of our Year 6 classes taking part in their ‘Food on the Go’ project this week.
Pupils from 6M had their chefs’ hats on in the kitchen this week preparing and tasting some delicious treats as part of their Design & Technology module.
They had a go at tasting some ready-made snacks – including sausage rolls, Cornish pasties, samosas, vegetarian gyozas and spring rolls. We had some very willing participants!
Taste comparisons were made, vetting the various snacks for appearance, taste, texture and smell.
6K will be completing the same exercise after half term.
Both classes will go on to produce their own menus as part of the project.
"We were tasting on-the-go foods which had sugars for energy and carbohydrates which give you longer lasting energy rather than short bursts. My favourite out of all the foods were the gyozas, they were the nicest," Jesper told us.
