Bee and Beetle build their own castles
Following on from their trip to Windsor Castle last week, Year One took part in an exciting artistic challenge this week.
The children designed their very own castles, an activity which included learning all about the different parts of a castle, such as the turrets, the moat and the drawbridge.
As part of the exercise the children talked about what they wanted their castle to look like and what kind of material would be best to use.
They then cut out the shapes from cardboard, used glue to stick the pieces together and finally painted their creations.
"I painted my castle gold, yellow and brown," Jada told us. "I liked cutting out the shapes and it ended up looking like the castle I saw on my trip."
We asked Jada what her favourite part of the process was and she replied: "Everything was the best!"
