Imagination and inspiration for World Book Day
Thank you to all our imaginative and inspirational children and parents for an overwhelming effort at this year's World Book Day.
What a wonderful display of diverse characters plucked from both fiction and non-fiction books. From heroes like Harry Potter to a resplendent Cat in the Hat; from a grinning Gangster Granny to a wild Willy Wonka; from a villainous Captain Hook to a knock-out Anthony Joshua
.
Every character was beautifully represented and intricately detailed, transforming our St. Stephen's school into a literary tableau of epic proportions. Even our Oliver Twist that could literally, do the 'twist'!
As well as the costume catwalk, we enjoyed Anansie tales from Afro-Caribbean folk tale story teller Wendy Shearer and author Jeremy Shearer engaged the whole school in a marathon read of his funniest fiction. A full report covering Wendy and Jeremy's activities will follow in the Termly Newsletter, published just before Easter.
