SCIENCE WEEK MARCH 9 – 18th 2018
Work has already started this week ahead of British Science Week, as our Year 5s have been unearthing all manner of critters over on Moormead.
This particular project – which involves the digging of 10cm holes to reveal what lies beneath - is called What’s Under Your Feet?
It is an official scientific study and is aimed to help scientists at the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) understand the relationship between climate, the availability of invertebrates and how this impacts UK bird numbers and their migration patterns.
This is just one of a whole host of special activities we are taking part in for British Science Week from today until the 18th March.
Our focus is 'Exploration and Discovery' we are looking at Scientists who are 'Alive and Kicking'.
